Vortrag “Ghosts, Networks and Microbes – What ancient genomics can tell us about early moder humans in Eurasia” von Martin Sikora

24. April 2019 @ 17:30 - 19:00 CEST

Kostenlos

Ancient genomics, the reconstruction of whole genomes from ancient DNA, is a revolutionary tool that has transformed studies of the evolutionary history of our species. In this talk I will discuss what we have learned about early modern humans across Eurasia from ancient DNA sequencing of some of the most important Upper Paleolithic human remains. Their genomic data has yielded novel insights into early modern human dispersals after the out-of-Africa migration, social organisation in early hunter-gatherer societies as well as their exposure to ancient pathogens.
