In recent years there has been a significant expansion in our comprehension of ancient human life and human-environment interactions. This is due to the increasingly rapid development of analytical methods and techniques in archaeological sciences which have facilitated and encouraged interdisciplinary research. This intensive workshop and training program will provide archaeology students with an introduction to the different disciplines of bioarchaeological and environmental sciences in archaeology, as well as an understanding of some basic practical research methods that can be applied in the field and laboratory.

The 7-day program will include both teaching and practical sessions. Various experts will present an introduction to basic research methods as well as case studies with a specific focus on those undertaken in Turkey. This will be supplemented by in-person practical training in archaeobotany, physical anthropology, and zooarchaeology to be held in Gaziantep, Turkey.
